A Bit About Edges
Every edged tool is different. Here at TdSharp, I've spent a good amount of time learning what edge is best for a particular tool and a particular task. A 15⁰ edge is great for a Japanes kitchen knife, but far too delicate for a clever or a hatchet. A mirror polish is ideal for a straight razor, but not something i recomend for slicing tomatoes. I understand that a convex edge will make a steep angled blade stronger, but isn't ideal if you want your knife to be hair-widdling sharp(yes, that is possible). My goal is to put the right edge angle, finish and type for the particular application of your knife or tool.
